School Principal

Dear All Saints Parents,

Hello, my name is Karen Meskill and I am the new principal at All Saints Catholic School. I wanted to take a moment to introduce myself, share some of my background and experiences, and share with you how excited I am to be a part of the All Saints community. I started at All Saints on July 12 and I have been warmly welcomed by several staff members, parents and students already. I look forward to meeting everyone during the school year!

I hold a K-12 Administrators License and Masters in Education which I earned through the University of Minnesota. I am a licensed K-6 teacher with a 5-8 endorsement in Communications/Literature. Prior to becoming a principal, I taught middle school English for five years. I attended Siena College in Albany, New York where I earned my Bachelor of Science degree in Marketing/Management.

This upcoming school year will be my fifth year as a principal. I was most recently at Mary Queen of Peace Catholic School in Rogers for two years and before that I was at St. Elizabeth Seton Catholic School in North Minneapolis for two years. Prior to being a principal I taught middle school English for five years in both the Catholic and public school settings. I am so happy to be back in Catholic schools because I can share my faith with students and watch them grow and develop in their own faith journey here at school.

Prior to teaching I worked in the field of banking. I was a Corporate Trainer at a bank in Chicago and a Personal Banking Manager at another Chicago bank prior to that. After college I worked on Wall Street for two years in the Human Resource Department and the Management Training program of a securities firm.

I was born and raised on Long Island, New York and my family still lives out East. We go back and visit family each summer and spend some time at the beach, which is one of my favorite places in the world. I am married and have two daughters, Megan and Kathleen, who attend Benilde-St. Margaret’s High School. We live in Southwest Minneapolis, near Lake Harriet.

I look forward to meeting and working with you and your child(ren) to continue the wonderful work that is taking place at All Saints. I will be at the Uniform Sale/Exchange on August 9, 2011 from 3pm–7pm in Murphy Hall. Dennis Scrip is and will be available to purchase, we earn a 5% reward on the total sale when scrip is used.
