Below are instructions for the up-coming STEM Fair.
 
Homework for today:
 
Religion: Study for BOF test next Thursday.
 
Reading: Read for 20 mins.
 
Spelling: Pg. 47
 
Math: Falvey and Clark 5-7 both sides. (Extra Credit Challenge sheet for Mrs. Falvey's class)
 
Social Studies: Study the 15 East Coast States. The test will be on Friday, January 25. To practice the locations go to

STEM Fair Registration is now open! Sign up your project at https://goo.gl/forms/eDMaiZinxsGtJRG42

 

All students in Kindergarten through 8th grade are encouraged to enter projects.  Students may do an individual project or work in teams of two.  Participants are invited to present a project in any STEM field.

 

All projects will be reviewed and all entrants will be awarded certificates.  

 

Students in 3rd - 8th grade who are interested in participating in the Archdiocesan Big Bang STEM Fair on April 6 will need to follow specific criteria for their project - more information will be provided if you indicate you’re interested when you sign-up.

 

Key Dates:

  • February 1:  Registration closes
  • February 15:  Final project titles due
  • February 26:  Fair begins at 5:30pm; Open house 7:00pm; Fair ends at 7:30

Social Studies: Study for the 15 East Coast States map test on January 25 (spelling counts) See yesterday's post for a website to practice the states. To practice spelling, students can go to Spellingcity.com.

Tomorrow is Out of Uniform, Caps for Community and Culver's Night.

Science: Study guide due tomorrow. Study for the test on Thursday. 

Friday, January 4

Next Tuesday is the January and July Birthday Celebration. Students with birthdays in one of these months can be out of uniform. An ice cream treat will be served at lunch.
 
Homework for today:
 
Religion: Find the date of your Baptism by next Wednesday (if possible!)
 
Reading: Read for 20 mins.
 
Math: Teach the Chapter 4 practice test to a parent. The Chapter 4 test will be on Monday.
 
Science: Study Guide due Tuesday.

I wish you all a very Merry Christmas season and a Happy New Year!!
 
We will have all of our kids (and 5 grandkids) home for Christmas and are looking forward to a fun, busy time! I should have some stories when I get back!!

Science: Review pages 92 and 93. Extra credit animal poster due on Thursday. 

Friday, December 14

Next Tuesday is Out of Uniform, Caps for Community and Culver's Night.

Reading: Read for 20 mins.
 
Math: Falvey 4-2 Both sides; Clark 4-2 Homework side, Remembering side all except #21-23 are extra credit.
 
Science: Review pages 92 and 93; Animal poster is due by Thursday.
 
Social Studies: Letter back to England from Jamestown (one page on looseleaf, don't skip lines and follow the rubric). This is due on Monday.

Wednesday, December 12

Tomorrow, as you all know, is the Christmas Music Concert. It is an amazing celebration of the Birth of Our Lord! Students should meet in the fifth grade reserved pews at 6:45 in the church.
 
Tomorrow is also Spirit Wear Day in honor of the choirs. 
 

The 5th grade Christmas party will be 12/20/18 from 1:15  - 2:15 pm. The planning committee has planned an Escape Room party for the kids - which is sure to be fun! We are in need of a few supplies to make the party a success:

  • 5-6 Jenga games - please label with your name and send in to Mrs. Clark's room
  • 16 Empty Cereal Boxes (size/brand not an issue) by Tuesday 12/18, please send in and Kathy Traster will pick up.

Tuesday, December 11

Tomorrow the students will be going to reconciliation at 1:15. We will do an examination of conscience before going and student may write down their sins on a post it note if they would like to.
 
Thursday is Spirit Wear Day in honor of our choirs.
 
The Christmas Music program is Thursday night. Students must be in the pew by 6:45. They had their rehearsal today, and it is amazing. The fifth grade are the star attraction in my biased opinion!!
 
Homework for today:
Religion: Parable project is due tomorrow.
 
Reading: Read for 20 mins.
 
Spelling: Pg. 38
 
Math: Sign and return the Chapter 2 test.
 
Science: Animal poster is due before the Christmas break. This is extra credit.

Monday, December 10

Tomorrow is December and June Birthday celebrations. Students with birthdays during these months may be out of uniform and get an ice cream treat at lunch.
 
Our class will receive Reconciliation on Wednesday afternoon.
 
Homework for today:
Religion: Parable and picture are due on Wednesday.
 
Reading: Read for 20 mins.
 
Spelling: Pg. 37.
 
Science: Animal Poster is extra credit and due before the Christmas break.
 
Social Studies: Sign and return Explorer test.
